Caspian Oil and Gas exhibition and conference has been the central event in the sector of oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan. For more than two decades the exhibition has played a role of a platform for establishment of strong business contacts, signing of mutually profitable contracts and successful implementation of the projects. As a rule more than 10,000 local and foreign specialists attend the exhibition every year. The high status of the exhibition is confirmed by participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) provide an invaluable support to the project. This year Caspian Oil and Gas will involve over 240 companies from more than 30 countries, including Azerbaijan, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal. Czech Republic, Italy, Germany are to present their national pavilions. Among the debutants are the companies from Great Britain, Portugal, Romania, the United States as well as some other countries. The exhibition is going to feature a wide range of equipment, services, innovational technologies in the sphere of oil production and transportation of energy sources, provision of oil and gas storage systems, maintenance services. By gathering the top managers of the leading companies, representatives of profile ministries, influential profile experts on a single discussion platform, the oil and gas forum provides a regular opportunity for exchanging views on the relevant issues of oil and gas sector development. Caspian Oil and Gas international conference which is due to be held at the JW Marriott Absheron Baku hotel on June 2-3 is a traditional platform for such discussions. Among the main topics put for discussion this year are the issues of further development of Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry in the modern realities, Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring energy supplies to Europe, provision of ecological and industrial security of supplies as well as a number of other related matters. Nearly 400 delegates representing more than 30 countries plan to participate in the conference. More than 50 speakers including the leading specialists, representatives of state structures, heads of major oil and gas companies from different countries will deliver reports on key issues of production, management and transportation of energy sources amid low oil prices. Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Natiq Aliyev will take part in the plenary session of the conference. SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, BP’s Regional President on Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Gordon Birrell, Statoil Vice President for International Development Al Cook, Nobel Upstream executive Vice President Larry Bates and others will also make reports at the conference.
For the first time this year the conference will consider the issue of training specialists for oil and gas projects. As part of the session, the specialists will discuss the obligations of the market participants related to corporate and social responsibility, development of the system for searching talents, educational programs as well as other technologies which help the employees be more effective, formation of the effectiveness assessment system and staff reserve, as well as many other issues. The moderator of the session is Khalik Mammadov, SOCAR Vice-President on Regime, Staff and Information Technologies.
