Accelerated development of the non-oil sector has been defined as the main priority of the Azerbaijani economy. The plastic industry has great prospects in this direction. Farkhad Musayev, Executive Director of PolyMart LLC, operating in this field, notes that the Company plans to increase the export of competitive products to foreign markets in the coming years.
Caspian Energy (CE): Mr. Musayev, what the lines of activity of PolyMart LLC?
Farkhad Musayev, Executive Director of PolyMart LLC: PolyMart LLC has started operating since January 14 2015. The Company is engaged in production and sale of plastic products of ‘P-Plast’ brand (pipes and pipe connections). The other line of activity of the Company is the sale of materials designed for assembling of water, gas, sewage systems, as well as arranging the sale of materials for other sectors of the construction industry in the markets of Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries. Giving priority to products of local producers, our company is also an official representative of a series of foreign producers (Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Italy) in Azerbaijan.
CE: Has PolyMart LLC managed to reach goals set two years ago? Which niche does the Company hold on the Azerbaijani market? Which principles does the Company follow in relations with the customers?
Farkhad Musayev: Our clients are successful companies representing different areas of business. Our partners mainly require high reliability and pure quality of performed operations, as well as permanent improvement of production processes, which directly influences the efficiency of the business of our clients. We are pleased that our clients highly appreciate our mutually beneficial cooperation.
PolyMart LLC contributes to successful implementation of projects of its clients. Pipes and pipe connections, including other necessary materials for water and sewage infrastructure, as well as for gas supply projects of Azerbaijan, are supplied mainly by PolyMart LLC. Azersu OJSC, Melioration and Water Industry OJSC, Baku Metro CJSC and other companies involved as contractors in implementation of projects of government structures are our main clients. PolyMart LLC, which is progressing permanently, helps its clients to implement the most demanding projects. We help our clients to enter new promising markets and expand the capacity of their business. Our goal is to establish long-term cooperation as well as reliable relationship.
CE: What role does the factor of official representation of foreign producers in Azerbaijan play in the development of the company?
Farkhad Musayev: Organizing sale of products of well known companies of the world by PolyMart is associated not only with the profits gained from sale. It helps to ensure extension of the volume of supply of own products to clients of PolyMart LLC. For instance, for contractors engaged in projects on water supply and sewage infrastructure it would be rational to receive all materials from a single company. It concerns not only projects introduced in Azerbaijan but also products and equipment of foreign companies. That includes pumps, welding appliances for pipes, water channels, as well as other goods and equipment. It creates conditions to focus directly on the project implementation. All of it finally promotes the growth of volume and sales of own products of PolyMart LLC and its positioning as a reliable partner.
CE: What are the main priorities of the Company in the sales field?
Farkhad Musayev: Favorable prices and high quality are major priorities of PolyMart LLC in trade business. In other words, our company provides products meeting the highest standards.
CE: To what extent did you manage to extend the business of the Company in regions?
Farkhad Musayev: PolyMart has representatives in many regions of our country, who are engaged in sale of our products. Our production zone is based in Baku now. But in future we plan to create production sites in the regions of the country as the demand grows.
CE: Which measures are taken to enter foreign markets?
Farkhad Musayev: While satisfaction of the domestic needs of the country is one of the major goals of companies-producers, another important task is to export goods to foreign markets and represent Azerbaijan at world markets. We are currently exporting our goods to neighbor countries, though still in small volumes.
I would like to touch another important moment. President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly noted in his speeches the importance of elimination of dependence on imported raw material and given relevant orders in this regard. Raw material factor plays an important role in our production field as well, as well as in ensuring competitiveness of produced products. Production of low density polyethylene raw material has been running in Azerbaijan. As you know, construction of SOCAR Polymer plant has been commenced in accordance with the decree of the President of Azerbaijan, which is planned to be completed in 2018. The commencement of production of high density polyethylene after the commissioning of this plant in Azerbaijan can be an important step towards the development of the non oil sector. Products manufactured by our company out of the local raw materials, will become more competitive at foreign markets. It will promote sooner growth of export of PolyMart LLC products to the markets of foreign countries. And we hope that it will contribute to the economic development of Azerbaijan.
CE: Which projects does PolyMart plan to implement in the field of production and sales in the future?
Farkhad Musayev: To date, PolyMart LLC manufactures water, sewage and gas pipes and pipe joints under P-Plast brand. The company’s plans for the future include production of not only pipes, but also all other plastic goods. And our slogan “The power of plastic!” was not chosen by coincidence.
The policy and works carried out under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan give impetus to the consistent and sustainable development of the Azerbaijani economy. Particular attention in this aspect is paid to the development of local production and increase of export supplies. The Government is taking appropriate steps in this direction. Work is carried out at the intergovernmental level in order to enhance the export potential. Trade houses of Azerbaijan are established in foreign countries.
It’s no coincidence that despite all the objective difficulties, the non-oil economy of Azerbaijan continued its development in 2016 and shows positive performance in 2017 as well. And this is the result of profound reforms and works conducted under the leadership of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Thanks to the attention and care of the Government towards entrepreneurs PolyMart LLC is in the process of dynamic development.
During the short period of operation, our company has not only developed, but also achieved serious progress in the plastic industry.
