In the third quarter of this year, the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) increased its gold reserves by 45.5 percent, reaching 184.8 tonnes.

According to AZERTAC, citing SOFAZ’s income and expenditure report for January–September of the current year, investments in gold amount to 22 billion 982.9 million US dollars, representing 32.8 percent of the Fund’s US dollar portfolio, which totals 70 billion 160.3 million US dollars.

It should be noted that during the same period last year, gold reserves stood at 127 tonnes.
