The Garadag Solar Power Plant (230 MW), built under a project by Masdar, has enabled the country to increase solar electricity production tenfold in nearly two years since it began operations.
According to AZERTAC, this information is contained in Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov’s article titled “Azerbaijan becomes a regional energy hub”, published in the newspaper Azerbaijan.
"The generation of 1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity at the Garadag Solar Power Plant during this period not only confirms that it is operating at full capacity, but also demonstrates once again that Azerbaijan has set realistic and achievable goals in green energy and is steadily implementing them," the article states.
