As part of the International Energy Efficiency event in Brussels, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency.

Fatih Birol noted that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in ensuring Europe's energy security and the importance of developing cooperation in this regard. During the conversation, it was emphasized that there is effective cooperation with the agency in the field of promoting COP29 initiatives. Discussions were held on monitoring the implementation status of energy initiatives and reflecting the progress in the relevant reports of the agency, as well as on the future development directions of cooperation.

They also exchanged views on current trends and forecasts in the global energy market.
