A delegation led by the Deputy Head of the State Tax Service under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy, Samira Musayeva, visited Latvia to exchange experience in the field of taxation.

“Caspian Energy Media” reports, citing the State Tax Service, that Musayeva met with the Director General of the State Revenue Service of Latvia, Baiba Smite-Roke. Presentations were made on the tax control process and risk management applied by the Latvian side, control over tax obligations, application of legal procedures, etc.

In turn, Azerbaijani representatives made presentations on services provided to taxpayers and their improvement, tax disputes and litigation, the use of artificial intelligence and information technologies, as well as other topics.

Делегация во главе с заместителем руководителя Государственной налоговой службы при Министерстве экономики Самирой Мусаевой посетила Латвию для взаимного обмена опытом в налоговой сфере.

С.Мусаева встретилась с генеральным директором Службы государственных доходов Латвии Байибой Шмите Роче, были проведены презентации по вопросам применяемого Службой процесса налогового контроля и управления рисками, контроля налоговых обязательств, применения правовых процедур и др.

В свою очередь, представители Азербайджана выступили с презентациями по темам услуг, оказываемых налогоплательщикам, и их совершенствования, налоговых споров и судебных разбирательств, использования искусственного интеллекта и информационных технологий, а также по другим вопросам. Об этом сообщает “Caspian Energy Media” со ссылкой на Государственную налоговую службу.

Öz növbəsində, DVX nümayəndələri vergi ödəyicilərinə göstərilən xidmətlər və onların təkmilləşdirilməsi, vergi mübahisələri və məhkəmə çəkişmələri, süni intellekt və informasiya texnologiyalarından istifadə, eləcə də digər mövzularda təqdimatlarla çıxış ediblər.

 In April, a virtual high-level summit on climate issues was held under the chairmanship of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Brazilian President Luiz da Silva. It was attended by 17 leaders representing both the world's largest economies and countries that are highly vulnerable to global warming. The goal of the meeting was to mobilize international climate action ahead of the UN Climate Conference (COP30), which will be held in Brazil.

The two-hour closed-door meeting brought together representatives from China, the European Union, the African Union, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and small island developing states.

"As we heard today, the world is moving forward — at full speed. No country or group of countries will stop the clean energy revolution," Guterres stated at the press conference following the summit.

"The Economic Opportunity of the Century"

According to the Secretary-General, many leaders pledged to present new, bold climate plans as soon as possible — or, as they are referred to at the UN, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). These plans will set the course of action for the next decade and support the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources

The UN Secretary-General also reported that President Xi Jinping confirmed during the meeting that China’s updated Nationally Determined Contributions will cover all sectors of the economy, as well as greenhouse gas emissions. The Secretary-General considers this clarification "extremely important" for combating climate change.

The UN Secretary-General added that prices for renewable energy have sharply declined, making them "the most reliable path to energy sovereignty and security, and to moving away from unstable and costly fossil fuel imports."

Since the adoption of the Paris Agreement in 2015, projections for global warming have decreased—from more than 4 degrees Celsius to 2.6 degrees Celsius if current plans are implemented. However, this still falls short of the goal to keep temperature rise within 1.5 degrees Celsius.

The Secretary-General urged leaders to submit national plans aligned with this target and reaffirming their commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

“Africa and other regions of the developing world are warming faster, and Pacific island nations are facing more rapid sea level rise, even as the global average is also accelerating,” he said.

The Secretary-General called on countries to provide a convincing plan to mobilize $1.3 trillion annually for developing countries by 2035, to double adaptation funding to $40 billion this year, and to increase contributions to the new Loss and Damage Fund established at COP28.

Guterres also announced that a high-level event will be held at the UN in September — just weeks before COP30 — to assess progress in implementing climate plans.

According to news.un.org, Indigenous peoples of the North, including the Inuit and Sámi, who have faced a complete transformation of their way of life, experience funding constraints as the resources do not reach them directly. Additionally, the drying up of inland water bodies continues. The Aral Sea, which requires major international efforts and measures to restore the entire basin, is a prime example. The same applies to Lake Urmia, and now the Caspian Sea is at risk. Its shrinking threatens not only the ecosystems of the coastal states but also contributes to climate change across the entire continent.

Glacier loss continues in the Alps (about 30% has melted). In the mountains of Central Asia, particularly in Tajikistan, melting is occurring at a slower pace than in the Alps but still threatens the water basins of the Syr Darya and Amu Darya rivers. This situation demands thorough scientific analysis, engineering work, and ecosystem adaptation. Therefore, beyond funding announcements, a targeted approach is necessary—clearly defining the goals of the projects for which the funds are intended.

Форум Шанхайской организации сотрудничества /ШОС/ по сокращению бедности и устойчивому развитию-2025 начал во вторник свою работу в городе Сиань. Председатель КНР Си Цзиньпин в письме в адрес участников форума отметил, что искоренение нищеты - это глобальный вопрос и общая цель всех стран мира. Благодаря напряженным усилиям Китаю удалось одержать победу в борьбе с нищетой и на десять лет раньше срока достичь цели по ликвидации нищеты, поставленной в повестке дня ООН в области устойчивого развития на период до 2030 года.

Главная тема открывшегося во вторник форума заявлена как "Последовательное сокращение бедности и сотрудничество в интересах развития: продвижение борьбы с бедностью и устойчивого развития в странах ШОС". Организаторами форума совместно выступают Комитет ШОС по добрососедству, дружбе и сотрудничеству и народное правительство провинции Шэньси.

Ранее Китай поддержал  повышение статуса Азербайджана в Шанхайской организации сотрудничества (ШОС), между Азербайджаном и Китаем также подписано соглашение о стратегическом сотрудничестве.

Декларация о создании ШОС была подписана в Шанхае в июне 2001 года Казахстаном, Кыргызстаном, Китаем, Россией, Таджикистаном и Узбекистаном. В 2017 году полноправными членами ШОС стали Индия и Пакистан. 

Временный поверенный в делах Индии в Каире С. Сушма заявила, что ее страна намерена более чем утроить свои инвестиции в Египет в течение следующих нескольких лет.

Планы Индии в первую очередь реализуются частными компаниями, а также государственными предприятиями, стремящимися извлечь выгоду из потенциала роста Египта и Индии, которые входят в число самых быстрорастущих экономик мира.

В интервью Al Arabiya Business Сушма заявил, что к концу 2025 года объем торговли с Египтом достигнет 5 миллиардов долларов США по сравнению с примерно 4,2 миллиардами долларов США в прошлом году, и в настоящее время предпринимаются усилия по увеличению этого показателя до 12 миллиардов долларов США в течение следующих нескольких лет.

Сушма заявил, что две индийские компании, Renew Power и OCIOR Energy, планируют инвестировать около 12 миллиардов долларов в строительство солнечных и ветряных электростанций в Египте.

В декабре 2022 года компания OCIOR Energy подписала меморандум о взаимопонимании с правительством Египта о реализации проекта в экономической зоне Суэцкого канала по производству зеленого аммиака с использованием зеленого водорода.

21 мая премьер-министр Азербайджана Али Асадов встретился с президентом Всемирной федерации мини-футбола Филипом Джудой (Filip Juda).

На встрече была отмечена значимость проводимого в Баку с 21 мая по 1 июня чемпионата мира по мини-футболу.

В ходе встречи были одобрены меры, направленные на развитие и популяризацию мини-футбола в нашей стране, а также обсуждались вопросы сотрудничества в этой сфере.

Президент Казахстана Касым-Жомарт Токаев провел переговоры с Премьер-министром Венгрии Виктором Орбаном. 

Приоритетным направлением двусторонней повестки Президент назвал торгово-экономическое и инвестиционное сотрудничество. В 2024 году объем взаимной торговли достиг почти 200 млн долларов, в первом квартале текущего года зафиксирован рост товарооборота на 37%.

Венгерские инвестиции в экономику Казахстана превысили 370 млн долларов. В настоящее время совместный инвестиционный портфель включает 16 проектов на сумму около 700 млн долларов в таких сферах, как машиностроение, сельское хозяйство и логистика.

На встрече был рассмотрен ход реализации договоренностей, достигнутых по итогам прошлогодних переговоров на высшем уровне, включая совместные проекты в сферах энергетики, торговли и инвестиций. The Informal Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on May 21 in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán welcomed President Ilham Aliyev. President Ilham Aliyev delivered a speech at the event.
