On September 29, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov arrived in Minsk on a working visit at the invitation of Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin to attend a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council.
The Cabinet of Ministers reported on the visit.
According to the press service of the Russian Federation government, the CIS prime ministers are discussing “issues of expanding trade, economic, and scientific-technical cooperation,” as well as the development of transport corridors, the forestry industry, and agriculture.
Participants are expected to sign the CIS Scientific and Technological Development Strategy for 2026–2035, aimed at improving the quality of research and the effectiveness of its application. In addition, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and his counterparts will sign the Strategy for Digitalization of Major Multimodal Transport Corridors, designed to facilitate their integration with global logistics systems.
Several other documents are also scheduled for signing, including an Agreement on Cooperation in Preventing the Spread of Locust Pests and a Plan for Implementing the CIS Framework Program on the Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy for 2026–2030.
