Oil prices rise on global exchanges

According to AZERTAC, the price of Brent crude oil on the ICE (InterContinental Exchange Futures) in London rose by $0.38 to $66.3 per barrel. The price of Light crude oil on the NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange) in New York increased by $0.36 to $61.86 per barrel. Azeri Light currently stands at $73.35 per barrel.

The price of natural gas futures for December delivery rose by 0.75%, reaching $4.025 per 1 million BTU (British thermal units). Unlike the European pricing system, this price includes oil production costs but excludes taxes, transportation, and other market components, APA Economics reports.

On Monday, key stock market indices also showed growth. The Dow Jones Industrial Average on the New York Stock Exchange rose by 1.01% to 47,207.12 points, the S&P 500 increased by 0.79% to 6,791.69 points, and the NASDAQ Composite rose by 1.15% to 23,204.87 points. The NYSE Composite Index climbed by 0.34% to 21,698.06 points, while the S&P/TSX Composite Index rose by 0.55% to 30,353.07 points.

Positive trends were also recorded on European markets. The FTSE 100 index grew by 0.70%, DAX by 0.13%, and IBEX 35 by 0.44%. The Euro Stoxx 50 index increased by 0.11%, while the CAC 40 index remained unchanged.

The lowest recorded price for Azeri Light was $15.81 on April 21, 2020, while its historical high of $149.66 was registered in July 2008.
