SOCAR’s production figures rise

According to AZERTAC, citing SOCAR’s report on drilling, production, refining, and export performance for the third quarter of this year, the company produced 1.8 million tonnes of oil and 1.94 billion cubic meters of gas from fields operated independently or as the main shareholder. Overall, 7 million tonnes of crude oil were extracted in Azerbaijan in the third quarter of 2025. Gas production in the country increased by 7.4 percent compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 13 billion cubic meters.

During the reporting period, SOCAR’s oil exports to foreign markets totaled 4.1 million tonnes. This figure includes oil produced directly by the company as well as Azerbaijan’s and SOCAR’s shares of profits from oil extracted by international consortia operating in the country. Domestic natural gas exports reached 6.3 billion cubic meters, while domestic consumption totaled 2.4 billion cubic meters, reflecting an 8.7 percent increase in gas exports.

For comparison, in 2024 SOCAR produced 5.8 million tonnes of oil and 3.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Between January and October 2024, SOCAR accounted for 2.5 million tonnes of exported oil and condensate out of a total 19.9 million tonnes produced in Azerbaijan.

In the third quarter of 2025, SOCAR also refined 1.7 million tonnes of oil and 760 million cubic meters of gas. 639,200 tonnes of oil, petrochemical, and gas-chemical products produced at SOCAR’s plants in Azerbaijan were exported to foreign markets. Exports of oil, petrochemical, and gas-chemical products recorded a 2.7 percent increase.
