New logistics channel connects Beijing and Almaty

A container train carrying furniture, auto parts, and other goods departed from the international port located in Beijing’s Fangshan District for the city of Tacheng in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (northwest China). From there, part of the cargo will be transported by road to the Kazakh city of Almaty via the Bakhtu border checkpoint.

Thus, cross-border multimodal transport along the “railway + highway” route between Beijing and Almaty has been launched, marking the emergence of a new, efficient logistics channel linking the Chinese capital with Central Asia. The news was reported on Monday by the portal chinanews.com.cn.
