Chinese companies open new route for chemical exports through Central Asia

China’s energy and mining corporation CHN Energy has launched a new high-efficiency corridor for exporting chemical products to Central Asia, crossing the state border via the Bakhtu checkpoint in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (northwest China). The symbolic start of the new route was marked by the recent dispatch of two trucks carrying polyolefin products from this checkpoint to Uzbekistan. This was reported on Tuesday by an industry news website operated by China’s National Energy Administration.

As of the end of October 2025, CHN Energy has successfully opened export corridors to Central Asia through five checkpoints, enabling the export of 13 types of chemical products, including polyolefins, which are widely used in areas that serve public welfare and industrial production — such as food packaging and household appliance manufacturing
