Dushanbe to host a series of summits

From October 8 to 10, Dushanbe will host a series of international events attended by leaders from Central Asian countries, Russia, and member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, President of Russia  Vladimir Putin will visit Tajikistan on an official state visit on October 8–9.

On October 9, the second “Central Asia–Russia” Summit will be held with the participation of the Presidents of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Russia: Emomali Rahmon, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Sadyr Japarov, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and Vladimir Putin.

According to sources, this summit serves as an important platform for dialogue between the Central Asian region and Russia, where issues of multilateral cooperation in economic, trade, cultural, and security spheres will be discussed.

At the conclusion of the summit, a joint statement and an action plan are expected to be adopted.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, the CIS Heads of States Summit will take place on October 10.  In addition to the aforementioned leaders, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will take part in the summit.

The summit will address key issues on the international agenda, including regional and global security, the expansion of political dialogue, strengthening trade and economic cooperation, and the development of humanitarian and cultural ties within the CIS.

It is reported that, following the summit, important documents aimed at strengthening multilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation will be signed.
